This one is my all time favorite piece of work, and was also my first...The melancholy, the anger, the darkness, the pain!! haaaaa gotta love it! :D
The goal of this piece was to "tattoo" all the words that come to my head when I'm with this girl right here (yes, she IS a very good friend of mine!) She's a BMX rider. But that's far from being the only interesting thing about her...She is also something that is becoming more and more frequent in Geneva called "Straight Edge." They label it "XXX." Most of the straight edge guys i know here all have several physical aspects in common, Huge ear plugs, minimum 2 facial piercings, a strange obsession with bikes and hardcore metal music...it's quite strange, but very interesting i find. Call it a fad, a way of life, culture, whatever you want but whatever it is, i find it a very positive way of thinking, especially between the young teenaged idiots nowadays...
Because you see, these people don't drink, or smoke either. They don't have any sexual intercourses with ANYONE besides their girl/boyfriends, (and yes, fuck friends don't count!) and most importantly, they don't eat or drink absolutely ANYTHING that comes out of animals!!! Yes i know, that means no eggs, no milk, no cheese, NOTHING! How do they live without pizza?? how do they live WITHOUT CEREAL??? and most of all, HOW DO THEY LIVE WITHOUT STARBUCKS COFFEE??? damn...i respect the whole no sex before marriage thing but living without being able to pleasure yourself with food,sometimes i ask myself: what do these guys actually DO for pleasure... :s
Well, we're not all pierced and tattooed... I mean, even if the majority of straight edge kids have tattoos or piercing, this is because it's an alternative movement, you see ? We don't do body modifications because we're straight edge you see ? This is because we may feel different from the rest of the society, the straight edge movement/way of life is very deeper than that, you know. This is a way of life we chosed because we didn't feel interested in taking drugs or having sex with anybody, we chosed a way of life that is TRUE. Being yourself and being sincere with each other is the way we live... "Straight Edge" is only the name that has been given to this way of life to create a movement... And it has his negative sides because our choice isn't a "label" that refers to a way to get dressed up or other... But some people tend to become straight edge for the style, the alternative side, but that's fucking deeper than that...
